A Professional Genealogist with a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University, Tom Simonds also brings decades of law enforcement investigative and forensic experience to historical record searches and DNA test analysis.

Leveraging our location on the Coast of Maine - a focus on Colonial New England and Franco-American, Québécois, and Acadian ancestry allows us to find information not accessible elsewhere.
With a second location located feet from Kings Highway in Vero Beach, Florida, we can connect with clients with roots across the country, and the globe.
Genealogy is far more than building one's own family tree. DNA result analysis, heir searches, and assistance with legacy society applications are only a few of the types of projects to which we add value.
While every project is different, and the paths to our door are unique, here's what becoming a customer often looks like..
A focused starting point for clients who have very little information about their ancestry. We conduct a short, targeted research session to identify the basic details (names, approximate dates, and places) needed to move forward with meaningful genealogical work. This service is designed for those who know almost nothing about their lineage and need help getting oriented before beginning record research or retrieval.
We locate and deliver one to four specific records that you have already identified. This includes obtaining an image of the record (when available), providing a full genealogical citation, a transcription and translation (if needed), and a brief explanation of what the record contributes as evidence. In some cases, light additional research may be required to successfully locate the record.
We review the records you have already gathered (whether in a family tree, documents, or shared files) and evaluate what is useful, what is weak, and what is missing for your research goals. This diagnostic service helps clarify the current state of your research and identifies the most logical next steps, which may include targeted record research, a broader Research Project, or moving directly into record retrieval.
A structured research effort focused on identifying and compiling the records needed to address a specific genealogical question. This service emphasizes thorough research and clear documentation of findings but does not include correlation of evidence or resolution of conflicting information. It is well suited for establishing generational links, proving places of origin, or filling significant gaps in a family line.
A complete, formal case report prepared to the Genealogical Proof Standard. This service includes analysis and correlation of all relevant evidence, resolution of conflicting information where possible, and a soundly reasoned written conclusion. It is the most comprehensive option when a defensible, professional report is required.
We manage the process of obtaining official copies of records from archives, vital records offices, and other repositories wherever legally permitted. When direct third-party requests are not possible, we provide clear, customized instructions so you can complete those steps efficiently. This service reduces the administrative burden of turning identified records into properly sourced official documentation.
For most clients, a customized mix of one or more of these products is the perfect formula for success.
